Scenario

Pahad par chadhte waqt ek rasta ekdum khada hota hai aur doosra thoda flat. Khade raste par chadhna zyada mushkil hota hai kyunki uski 'slope' (dhalan) zyada hoti hai.

Mental model

`Slope = Rise / Run` (kitna upar gaye divided by kitna aage gaye).

Slope ek number hota hai jo batata hai line kitni steep (khadi) hai. Agar aap aage badhne ke sath bohot jaldi upar jaate ho, toh slope high hai. Agar aage badhne ke baad bhi upar zyada nahi jaate, toh slope low hai.

Explanation

Physics ke graphs mein line ki steepness ya 'slope' nikalna bahut important hai. Distance-time graph ka slope aapko speed deta hai, aur velocity-time graph ka slope aapko acceleration deta hai. Slope ka ek simple formula hota hai: `change in y` divided by `change in x`.

Isey samajhne ke liye, line par koi bhi do points lijiye. Problem: A line passes through the points `(2, 5)` and `(6, 17)`. Calculate the slope of the line.

  1. Dono points ke `y`-coordinates ka difference nikalein (Rise).
  2. Dono points ke `x`-coordinates ka difference nikalein (Run).
  3. `Slope = Rise / Run`.

Answer: `3`

Problem: Calculate the slope of a line graph passing through `(0, 0)` and `(5, 25)`.

  1. Origin `(0, 0)` ek bohot aasan point hota hai. `y`-change (Rise) nikalein.
  2. Ab `x`-change (Run) nikalein.
  3. Formula mein daalkar slope nikalein.

Answer: `5`
