Sound ek bucket brigade ki tarah hai, jahan pani (energy) pass karne ke liye logon (particles) ki zarurat hoti hai.

Jaise fire extinguish karne ke liye log ek line mein khade hokar paani ki balti pass karte hain, waise hi sound wave medium ke particles ko push kar ke energy pass karti hai. Agar log nahi honge (vacuum), toh balti aage nahi badhegi.

Explanation

Sound actually ek tarah ki energy hai jo ek jagah se doosri jagah **mechanical wave** ke form mein travel karti hai. Ek mechanical wave ko chalne (propagate) ke liye kisi na kisi material **medium** ki zarurat hoti hai, jaise ki solid, liquid, ya gas.

Jab hum bolte hain, toh hamare vocal cords vibrate karte hain. Ye vibrations hamare aas-paas ki hawa (air) ke particles ko push karte hain. Ye particles apne bagal wale particles se takrate hain aur unhein aage push karte hain. Aise hi ye chain reaction chalti rehti hai jab tak sound hamare kaano tak nahi pahunch jati.

Kyunki sound ko ek particle se doosre particle tak energy transfer karni hoti hai, isliye bina kisi medium ke ye travel nahi kar sakti. Vacuum (jahan koi matter nahi hota) mein sound ki propagation possible hi nahi hai. Yehi reason hai ki outer space mein silence hoti hai.

Ek classic experiment jise **Bell Jar Experiment** kehte hain, ye prove karta hai. Ek glass jar mein electric bell rakhi jati hai. Jab jar se hawa dheere-dheere bahar nikali jati hai (using a vacuum pump), bell ki aawaz faint hoti chali jati hai, aur vacuum create hone par bilkul band ho jati hai.
